Dark Reign 1: Rise of the Shadowhand
Add-on pack for Dark Reign: The Future of War. It features an new set of missions and story. The plot is now developed through FMV cutscenes. The game features two new forces at war, the Xenites and the Shadowhand. Additional races, that can be made allies are also incorporated for the first time. A combination of familiar and new unit types feature. Improvements have also in the graphics and AI. The multi-player mode allows you to play the races from the original game as well as this add-on.

Dark Reign 1: The Future of War
Futuristic RTS game set during a war between two sides, the Imperium and Freedom Guard. The premise is that the repressive Imperium are dominant in the struggle for land and water, with the rebel Freedom Guard on the retreat. The Freedom Guard are attempting to send one of their men sent back in time in order to rescue a character named Togra, who can change history and prevent the Imperium from becoming so powerful. The single-player campaign consists of a series of 12 missions, each of which can be played as either side. Missions are tied together with a strong story. You'll get to play both sides in the conflict and mission objectives vary. There is also a quick start skirmish mode. Alongside the single-player game, is a multi-player mode for up to eight people (LAN or Net, only 2 serial connection). The game's control system is highly effective, and a good selection of commands is available. As expected for a '97 release, the game now looks pretty dated.

Real-time strategy game. Sequel to the well-received Dark Reign. The game takes place on fully 3D battlefields and employs a new engine. Its premise is a conflict between two groups, the Jovian Defence Authority and the Sprawlers. The JDA enjoy advanced technology, whilst the more primitive Sprawler people have much greater numbers of men.

Delta Force
First-person action/strategy game. It offers five campaigns and around 50 missions. There is a strong multi-player mode for competitive and cooperative games with up to eight people (over LAN or Net). The five campaigns each correspond to a different location and conflict. The first one deals with a drugs war in Peru. The second involves the rescue of hostages in Chad and the third, the threatened use biological weapons in Indonesia. The fourth campaign is set during a civil war in Uzbekistan and the final one deals with a missile crisis in Novoya Zemlya. Missions are varied. They include seek-and-destroy, infiltration, interception and rescues. Before each mission you select weaponry and equipment. In all 16 weapons are available including the M4 machine gun, M40A1 sniper rifle and the M203 grenade launcher. The action mostly takes place outdoors. The game employs a Voxel-based engine to good effect. The control system is effective.
