Arcade-style boxing game based on a Japanese series. The game employs anime-style graphics. The main single-player mode is the story mode. You take the role of a rookie boxer named Ippo, who must fight his way to the top through a series of some forty fights. Learning new moves and strategies as you go. There is also a two-player mode. The game's controls and graphics are effective.

Boxing game. You can choose from a selection of game options including single matches, versus mode (against another player) and full career mode. In career mode you can define your own fighter and must build up his skills by putting him through sparring sessions, as well as full fights. The gameplay could be better, although there is a good selection of defensive and attacking moves available, it is difficult to implement these effectively. The game boasts good graphics, with both ring and characters well-rendered. Character animation is fairly realistic.

Arcade-style athletics game. Seven events are recreated, they are the 100m, the 1500m, the 110m hurdles, the long jump, the high jump, the javelin and shot-putt. A selection of distinctive characters from around the world are available, and you can also create your own. Game options include practice and championship. You can compete against up to three other people in the multi-player mode. The control system, as in similar games, primarily involves rapid button pressing. The game employs generally impressive graphics.

Soccer game originally released in the arcades. The game does not have an official license and the player's names are fictional. 32 international team and six stadia are incorporated. The game offers high-paced, arcade-style action. Play against the computer or a friend. Up to 32 people can participate in tournament mode. There are several game options; arcade, international cup, league, tournament and single matches. The controls are simple and effective. You can switch your team's formation between two alternatives at any time and change your team line-up at half-time. The game's graphics are good and both players and stadia are rendered in good detail.

Virtua Tennis

This tennis game was originally released in the arcades. It combines playability with good graphics and features a selection of real-life players. Options include training and world circuit modes, championship and exhibitions matches. Both singles and doubles matches are recreated. You can play against the computer or up to three friends. Training mode features a variety of games designed to improve the precision of your shots. World circuit mode is the main single-player option, it consists of a selection of increasingly difficult challenges set in locations around the world. As you progress through the circuit, you'll unlock bonus features. The game's control system is simple but effective and a large number of shot-types is possible.

Virtual Deep Sea Fishing

Fishing sim. Choose from 13 locations around the world and fish for 18 types of fish. The game employs detailed 3D graphics and a good replay function is included. Different weather and sea conditions are recreated. The control system is effective, you not only control the reeling in of your line but also the boat. Apart form the single-player option you can participate in multi-player tournaments with up to seven other people via serial/modem connection, LAN or on-line.

Pool sim and first in this successful series. You can choose from straight pool, 8-ball, 9-ball, and Rotation. A good tutorial is also incorporated. There is a brief history of the game and background on each of the game types. You can position yourself at table, zoom in an out and change viewpoint. There is a single table. It is possible to show trajectory to help improve your game. You can play against one of nine computer opponents or another player (by taking turns or via modem connection or over LAN, turn on play, turns on PlayStation). The game boasts realistic physics and a god control system. The graphics are now somewhat dated.

Highly-acclaimed pool sim that boasts excellent 3D graphics and a high degree of playability, largely due to an effective control system and realistic ball physics. Unlike the first game, it offers a choice of tables and many new game variants feature (including 3-ball, 6-ball, 10-ball, bank pool and one pocket). There is a new tournament system for up to 16 players (all computer-controlled opponents). New customizability options have been added. The game features tutorials hosted by Mike Sigel and Lou Butera). You can also play against another player by taking turns, over LAN or on-line. A Try Shot function has been introduced, which enables you to practice particular shots mid-match.

Virtual Pool 3

Pool sim and part of a successful series. This installment represents a major update, with improved graphics and more freedom to move around the table. Like the previous games, it features realistic ball physics and an intuitive control system. The game is endorsed by US pool champion Jeanette Lee. Game options include a new career mode where you work you way through the ranks and a strong online multi-player mode for up to four players (you can also play over LAN or by taking turns). As you progress through the career mode, you earn cash for better cues and unlock new features. In all, there are sixteen pool variations available, with three preset tables for each and eight environments settings. It is also possible to customize a table by defining areas such as ball roll speed, table speed and pocket size.

Port of the popular pool sim. It features a good tutorial and six game variants. Game options include Match Play, Tournament, Shark Skins and Freestyle. There are three difficulty levels. It incorporates some graphical improvements over Virtual Pool 2.
