Devil Dice

Puzzle game and follow-up to another puzzle game called 'Intelligent Qube'. As the title indicates, you play a little devil and this game is dice-based. The gameplay involves moving dice within a grid to produce groups of the same number which then disappear. However, the way that you can move is limited. Alongside open-ended games is a single-player puzzle-mode which consists of boards which you must solve within a set number of moves. There is also a battle mode where you compete again the computer head to head and up to five players can participate in multi-player games. The game is challenging and well-designed. The graphics and controls are effective.

Doctor Who: Destiny of the Doctors

3D puzzle/action game based on the long-running British sci-fi series. The game consists of a series of puzzles with the aim of freeing each of the seven incarnations of the Doctor. You must also defeat the enemies that try and prevent your progress. The game is set entirely within the tardis. Most of the gameplay consists of navigating your way around the maze of corridors trying to find the area where each Doctor is held and then avoiding the traps there. The game features the many of the well known baddies from the series, such as the Daleks and Cybermen.

Puzzle game that uses the Unreal game engine (although the game is violence free).

Tetris-style puzzle game featuring the famous plumber. The gameplay involves rotating colored and differently shaped pills into a medicine bottle partially filled with viruses, so that the pills fit together. Each complete line disappears. Game options include classic, story, marathon and score attack. Marathon mode is a race against time to eliminate particular highlighted viruses, located within the pill bottle. There is a multi-player mode for up to three other players. It is possible to play in teams. The game employs 3D graphics and bright and colorful design.

Dust: A Tale of the Wired West

Adventure game with a Wild West theme. It is suitable for the younger gamer. Set in a fictional small town in New Mexico, you play a character who is down on his luck and must fight for survival. The gameplay primarily involves exploration, interaction with NPCs and puzzle-solving. The town is recreated in detail and is populated by some 40 NPCs. Many of the puzzles are inventory based and there are often multiple possible solutions, which affect the way that the game unfolds. The game employs a simple point-and-click interface and the graphics are effective.
