Galapagos: Mendel's Escape

Highly innovative 3D platform/puzzle game. The game's focus is an entity called Mendal and you must help to guide it through otherworldly environments where the laws of physics as we know them are suspended. For instance gravity varies from object to object. The environments includes moving platforms and lakes of acid.

Gex

Side-scrolling platformer featuring Gex the gecko. The story involves the evil media mogul Rez who transports Gex to an alternate reality to be the mascot for his TV empire. In order to escape, Gex must collect the remote controls that are hidden in-game. He has a good selection of moves at his disposal including the ability to climb up walls and use his tail and long tongue for attacks. The game features five worlds of multiple levels and secret areas. They cover a variety of settings including cartoon-inspired and jungle lands. A notable feature of the game is its humorous tone, hundreds of quips are incorporated, many of which refer to movies and TV shows.

Gex 2: Enter the Gecko

3D platform game and sequel to a popular 2D side-scrolling original. You play the titular Gecko who can climb walls and walk on ceilings. The gameplay consists of exploration, defeating/avoiding enemies, collecting items and puzzle solving. Each level has a set of objectives and is themed around a well-known movie or TV show. Level design is good with many secret areas to be discovered. You view Gex from a third-person perspective and the control and camera systems are effective. The cartoon-style, 3D graphics are generally good.

Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko

3D platform game. The game's premise is that you must rescue a female agent named Xtra, who has been kidnapped by Gex's nemesis Rez. She also happens to Gex's girlfriend and is played by Baywatch actress Marliece Andrada! The game's story is developed through lively cut sequences and dialogue. There are 25 large worlds to explore in this game. Settings include a range of TV-show/movie inspired environments to those based on ancient Greece and Egypt. You must collect the remote controls that are scattered around the levels as they are necessary to access to new areas. The gameplay consists of the standard platform action. You must collect the items in each level, whilst avoiding/defeating various types of enemies. A notable new feature, is that Gex gets to wear several disguises during the game. Gex has an extensive selection of moves at his disposal, including the ability to climb walls, perform attacks with his tail and tongue, and even snowboard. The game's control and camera systems are adequate. The graphics are generally good, although character animation could be better. Speech clips, including many humorous quips, sound effects and ambient music are incorporated.

Gift

3D platform game with adventure game elements. You play a creature named Gift on an adventure to rescue the kidnapped Princess Lolita Gobo. The gameworld is divided into eight distinctive lands. Gift has a range of moves at his disposal and is equipped with a staff which can be used in many different ways, including as a torch and pole-vault.

This game is available on the N64, PlayStation and PC. It is a 3D platformer featuring, as the name suggests, a glove-shaped central character. Goemon's Great Adventure

2D side-scrolling platform game with RPG elements. It features a character named Goemon who has appeared in other games on various platforms. The game's premise is that a machine that opens a portal to the past has been stolen and as a result numerous types of creatures including ghouls and goblins have been released. You must recapture the machine. The gameplay consists of traditional platform action and the levels are well-designed. You must collect items and compete mini-quests in order to progress through the levels.

Goofy's Fun House

Kids' 3D platform game featuring the popular Disney character. It is due for release in November 2000. the game will consist of 20 levels and gameplay will involve exploration, item collection and puzzle-solving. In addition, there will be five mini-games including racing, skiing and fishing competitions. A nice feature of the game promises to be the 6 classic cartoon sequences to be unlocked.
