As well as perfecting your extreme stunts in Freestyle arenas, there is a series of outdoor Motorcross and indoor Supercross tracks that can be raced against the computer or other players over a network. The tracks are set in a variety of environments including cityscapes and rooftops. The game incorporates some puzzle components to gain access to the further areas.

Card-based NASCAR game designed for email games. The game features authentic teams and drivers. You choose a driver and one of a selection of challenges. Each player takes a turn to make a move. These are emailed along with any message. Results are then displaced on a game board showing the race tracks. Players must decide race strategy and the timing of pit stops.

Evo Rally

Rally sim currently in development for the PlayStation 2. It promises to combine realistic action and vehicle physics with advanced graphics. The game will feature 48 rally stages set in locations around the world and covering a good range of terrain. Alongside the single-player championship, will be a strong two-player mode.

Excessive Speed

Top-down racing game with combat component. The game offers a selection of cars and well-designed tracks. Powerups are scattered around. Game options include Championship (series of unconnected races), Grand Prix (series of races in which you earn cash for vehicle upgrades), Track Fighter (battles), and Dynamite Trial (time trial in which your vehicle is destroyed if you hit anything). There is also a multi-player mode for up to four players on a split-screen. The game employs a modified version of the engine used in the game Fire Fight. The graphics and controls are generally effective, although notably there is no 3D acceleration.

Excitebike 64

Acclaimed 3D motocross game and update of a 2D classic that was released for the NES. You have a selection of bikes and drivers but in order to unlock them all you'll have to work through the championship mode. The game offers a selection of well-designed courses that incorporate many twists, turns, jumps and dips. A notable feature of the game is the inclusion of a track editor. You can race against AI opponents or up to three friends on a split screen. Alongside the standard racing action, there are bonus game types, including football, hill climb and a stunt course where you get points for successful tricks. The game boasts a good physics engine and highly effective control system. The graphics are impressive for a 64-bit console.
