Cabela's 4x4 Off-Road Adventure
Arcade-style off-road driving game. The game consists of a series of challenging courses divided into Skill, Navigation, Explore and Discovery types. There is no multi-player mode. The African settings and terrain are varied. The courses are well-designed with many pitfalls and obstacles to overcome. The game does not have an official vehicle manufacture but a variety of vehicles is available and you can use prize money to upgrade your vehicle. It is also possible to change the set up of the vehicle. The game's 3D graphics and controls are effective.

Arcade-style street racing game aimed primarily at the younger gamer. Notably, it is a modified version of an arcade release of the same name and it employs a modified San Francisco Rush engine. Carmageddon
High-speed a violent driving game. You play one of two characters, Max Damage or Die Anna. The single-player game is based on a ranking system. You must do well in street races of a set number of laps in order to move up the rankings and earn credits to upgrade your vehicle. There is also a system of time limits. You get extra credits and time for successfully performing stunts or acts of wanton destruction, such as mowing down pedestrians.

Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now
Sequel to the highly successful and controversial driving game. Again, the gameplay involves winning street races whilst wreaking destruction on your opponents and innocent bystanders. You must do well in the races to improve your rankings and earn cash to repair and upgrade your car. Bonuses are awarded for performing stunts or hitting pedestrians in various combinations. Time limits are in operation. Weapons and other powerups are available for collection. There is also a multi-player option (for up to 8 on a PC via LAN or on-line, and 2 able on PlayStation).

Action/driving game and third part of this highly successful and controversial series of games. Set in the not-so-distant future, the game's premise is that there are no-go areas of criminal activity and these have secure perimeters. The main single-player game alternates races and missions, which must be completed before you can escape from the compounds. There is also a good selection of multi-player options.

Championship Motocross 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael
Motocross sim currently in development. This installment in the series has a new developer. Like its predecessors, the game will feature a selection of authentic bikes, riders and courses. Playable riders, apart from Carmichael will include Carey Hart, Mike LoRocco, Mike Cinqmars, Mike Jones. In all, around 20 courses will feature including Rock Quarry and Glenhelen. Game options will include practice, quick race championship and two-player versus mode. There will also be a career mode which will consists of a series of championships. This sequel promises significant improvements in graphics, controls and physics.

Chocobo Racing
Kart racing game aimed primarily at kids. It is a spin-off from the highly successful Final Fantasy series. It employs colorful, cartoon-style graphics. There are eight tracks and the same number of drivers (characters familiar form the Final Fantasy games) to choose from. There are a couple of additional tracks and characters to be earned. The game offers several play modes; Grand Prix, Story mode, Time Attack and Relay. There is also a two-player Versus mode. In Grand Prix mode you race over four courses for a cumulative result. Story Mode provides an unfolding story between races. Time Attack is a time trial. Relay, as the name suggests, is a relay race. A notable feature of the game is its innovative special ability and power-up system. Before each race you select a special ability. These include periods of invulnerability (Black Magician), boosts of speed (Dash) and the ability to fly over obstacles (Flap). In addition, weapons, such as missiles, can be saved and accumulated for a more powerful effect.

There are loads of maneuvers to master the combos are easy to perform using the highly-effective control system. Mini-games are incorporated and these help you hone your skills. The game's graphics are good with both cars and people rendered in good detail. Play is accompanied by an extensive range of sound effects and voice samples as well as a hard rock soundtrack featuring artists such as The Offspring.
