Marvel Super Heroes Vs Streetfighter

Fighting game featuring the characters from the Marvel comics and Street fighter games. It is an arcade conversion. In all, there are 17 playable characters, each with their own special moves. You choose between training, battle, hero battle, crossover and two-player versus modes. Crossover mode allows you to choose two characters and change between them during battles. Hero battle pits the Marvel and Street Fighter characters against each other in a tournament. The game's fighting system and graphics are effective. there are loads of moves and combos to master and some spectacular visual effects.

2D fighting game featuring well-known characters from Marvel and Capcom. Among these on the Marvel side are Spiderman, the incredible hulk, and Captain America. On the Capcom side are characters from the Street fighter series including Chun-Li and Ryu, as well as others such as Megaman and Strider.

Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

2D fighting game featuring the superhero characters from Marvel comics together with those from Capcom games such as Street Fighter. Marvel Heroes include Spiderman, Captain America and the X-Men. The game offers new improvements in many areas over the original. There are new characters, moves and secrets and the graphics have been substantially upgraded. Over 50 playable characters are available in all, although many have to be unlocked. The selection of game options includes full championship and two-player versus. Notably there is a team match option that allows you to select a team of three characters that can be used in turn. A modified fighting system is employed and an extensive range of special moves is present. A new points system allows you character to accumulate credits that earn bonus abilities or unlock new features. To fully unlock these features requires on-line gaming and use of the VM unit. The game's graphics are good combining smooth character animation with detailed backgrounds.

Missile Command

Update of the classic arcade game. The game now employs 3D graphics. The gameplay consists of intercepting missiles as they approach their city targets. In order to succeed you must destroy every single missile. There are also some boss levels.

Block-based puzzle game. You control Mr Driller as he attempts to free the townsfolk from the masses of colored bricks that have engulfed their homes. He is able to drill through the blocks, thus changing their arrangement. When he drills away a block any same-colored blocks touching it will also disappear. However, drilling must be done carefully because as Mr Driller makes his way down through the mass of bricks he must make secure roofs to stop the blocks collapsing on his head. Time is also limited as he needs supplies of air (oxygen tanks are scattered through the level. The game offers a choice of arcade and time attack modes. Multiple difficulty levels add replayability value. The game's 3D graphics are effective and the basic gameplay is easy to master.

Board-type game featuring over 50 types of mini-game. Play against up to three friends or the computer on one of eight themed board designs (jungle, castle etc), two of which need to be unlocked. Choose from a number of familiar Mario characters such as Wario, Yoshi and Donkey Kong. You can set the length of the game from 20-60 turns. The gameplay consists of moving around the board collecting coins and stars and encountering various features including obstacles. The number of spaces moved is decided randomly at beginning of each turn. The game employs effective design and cartoon-style graphics.

Follow-up to the highly successful Mario Party. The game offer fun multi-player action and an improved single-player mode. It features five new boards with designs featuring space and western themes. The number of spaces moved decided randomly at beginning of each turn. The game features 64 mini-games, most of which are new. They are varied and include races, speed and memory challenges. 3D tennis game, featuring Mario and 15 other Nintendo characters. Each character has their own playing style and special shots. A variety of court settings feature. Update for the Dreamcast of the classic fighting game that appeared on other platforms. Characters from the earlier titles feature and the fighting action is essentially the same. The trademark gory finishing moves are still present. The major improvement over the previous games is in the graphics. Following on from Mortal Kombat 4, the game employs fully 3D characters. This installment boasts good 3D graphics and lavishly rendered arenas.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

2D side-scrolling game that combines platform and fighting gaming, with RPG-like character development. Sub-Zero gains experience points as he progresses through the game. These can be used to unlock special moves. He also has an inventory, including keys to access new areas. This game is an off-shoot of the main series of beat 'em ups and it was intended to be the first of several games that focused on the history of one of the well-known MK characters. The story relates the history of Sub Zero. Scorpion also features. The game's graphics and controls are reasonable.

Action/adventure game based on the hit series of fighting games. The game focuses on the history of two of the characters, the enemies Jax and Kano. You take the role of Jax. The gameplay involves exploration of the levels, using stealth, as well as fighting, and some puzzle-solving. Various weapons and explosives are available. You view the action from a third-person perspective and the game employs reasonable 3D graphics.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy

This game is effectively an augmented compilation of the first three Mortal Komabt games. It features all the fighters and backgrounds of those games with more added. In all there are almost 40 playable characters. There is a range of options including the full competition for the single player and a multi-player mode. In competition mode battles are tied together by a story developed through cutscenes. An extensive range of characters are incorporated into the game. The controls are easy to master. Due to its violent nature and the significant amount of gore, the game is not suitable for young children.

Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness

This game, featuring the heroine of the arcade classic, is due for release in October 2000. The game will include the full version of the original game, as well as a set of all-new 3D platform-style, puzzle levels. These new maze-levels, with the traditional dots to munch and ghosts to avoid, will feature other puzzle challenges, for example those involving item collection, moving blocks or using switches.
