Adventure game. You play Gabriel Knight, a horror writer and bookstore owner who begins an investigation into a series of murders, the so-called Voodoo Murders. Thus he begins a career, continued in the later games, as a Shadow Hunter, a hunter who specializes in the supernatural. The game has a strong plot and sustains a tense atmosphere well. The gameplay involves exploration, clue collection, interaction with NPCs and puzzle-solving. As expected the game now looks a bit dated. Cutscenes intersperse the game. the voice-acting is good. Featured actors include Time Curry and Mark Hamill.
