The PS2 makes a fun new twist possible, though -- these items will be visibly displayed on the realtime 3D renditions of each monster. If you're interested in a touch of the absurd, here you go. Your monsters, and their various fashion accessories, are your companions in a journey around the world, at least in the game's main story mode. As you breed your team of monsters and pit them against other breeders' specimens, you gradually uncover some of the world's hidden secrets. The story seems like it will again take a backseat to the battling, though -- world travel is mainly useful as a means to fight in major tournaments and discover the five locales where it's possible to evolve your monsters into a new and more powerful form.
