Third-person action/adventure game based on the TV series of the same name starring Pamela Anderson Lee as Vallery Irons. You'll play Vallery through a series of missions that will see her taking on a variety of enemies with an arsenal of high-powered weaponry.

Vagrant Story

Action/adventure game with RPG elements, set in a fantasy medieval universe. The English version of this eagerly anticipated game is due for release in mid-2000. You'll play a character named Ashley Riot, an agent who becomes embroiled in a complex plot. The game promises combines a strong story and cast of characters with varied gameplay. The gameplay will involve exploration, combat and puzzle-solving. A large selection of conventional weapons (swords and guns) will be incorporated into the game, alongside magical spells. It will even be possible to design your own weapons and armour in the factories included in game. The innovative combat system involves targeting various parts of the body and both offensive and offensive moves will be available. The game promises high-quality graphics and stylish design.

Vampire Hunter D

Action adventure game. You play a vampire hunter on the trail of a kidnapped girl. Your investigations takes you to a nightmarish castle. The gameplay consists of exploring the castle, combating the many enemies that occupy the rooms and solving puzzles. Weapons are scattered around the rooms and you can interact with your magical left hand! The game's graphics are reasonable and the game employs atmospheric design and audio. Good cutscenes intersperse the action.

Vangers: One for the Road

Action/adventure game. The game combines a strong story and gameplay with a great deal of depth. Set in the future, you play a member of a clan called the Vangers and are effectively a mercenary. You control 24 different types of vehicles that can variously travel on land, in the water and in the air and have many other specializations. You earn money for successful performances, enabling you to buy a more powerful vehicle. A similarly extensive range of weaponry is available. You view the action from an overhead perspective and the game employs a combination of 2D and 3D graphics. The game consists of a series of missions set on 10 worlds that cover a wide variety of terrain types. The interface and controls are complex but effective one mastered. Alongside the single-player game is also a multi-player mode for up to eight people via LAN or on-line. There are three options in this mode for combat, trading or racing based games.

Vigilance

Action game. Set in the near future you play an agent of a fictional elite anti-terrorist force, called SION (Special Intelligence Operations Network). There are eight playable characters, each with their own skills profile. The game consists of a series of mission set in locations around the world. A good selection of weapons are incorporated into he game, including an effective sniper rifle. There is a choice of view available; a first-person perspective and two third-person views. The game's graphics are adequate, although there are slow-down problems. Alongside the single-player game is a multi-player option for up to 16 player via LAN or on-line.
