Strategy and Wargaming Game from MicroProse, by Team 17
Turn-based strategy game. Up to four human or computer-controlled teams can play. Landscapes are generated randomly producing infinite variations of a limited number of terrain types.
Gameplay is everything with Worms. Your team of worms use a variety of high-powered weaponry to wage war against enemy worms in a stylized 2D landscape. You view the landscape side-on and control, where appropriate, the trajectory of and force of weapon release. Other items are similarly easy to control. Weapons range from guns, to dynamite to comical exploding sheep. There are also defensive tools, that enable you to create hide-outs, and items, which help you to traverse the landscape.
The game perimeters can be altered, including worm and weapons options. The graphics are simple but effective. A range of amusing sound effects and voice samples are incorporated.
