Strategy and Wargaming Game from JoWooD Productions, by Reality Pump Studios
RTS. As the title indicates, the action is set in the near future in a major war over the control of oil. The game features authentic unit types based on current technology and tactics. Air, sea and land units are available and these can be upgraded once new technologies have been researched.
The game's premise is that OPEC has cut off supplies of oil prompting global conflict. You can play as Iraq, the USA or Russia. Game options are single-player campaign or skirmish modes and the multiplayer mode (for up to eight players over LAN or Net). There are two campaigns to work through with thirty missions in all. The game employs a modified Earth 2150 engine. Refinements include greater freedom of view and an easy-to-use interface.
