Strategy and Wargaming Game from Blizzard
Real-time strategy game set in a fantasy universe. Set on a world called Argoth the game is based on a conflict between two forces of allied races, one side is led by humans and the other by Orcs. Numerous unit and building types feature and there is a new resource, oil. Significantly, naval and air units have been added in this sequel. Both magical and conventional weapons feature. You choose from two single-player campaigns, custom missions or multi-player games with up to seven other people (via modem/serial connection or LAN). A map editor is included.
The gameplay involves resource management, unit construction and strategic combat. An important new introduction, is the 'fog of war' which adds depth to the gameplay. The game employs an easy-to-use interface and command menu. The game is played from an overhead perspective and features 3D units. As expected, the game now looks dated. Cutscenes intersperse the single-player campaign. Atmospheric music accompanies play.
