Strategy and Wargaming Game from Blizzard, by Climax Group
RTS game for Saturn and PlayStation. This is a console conversion of the PC/Mac releases 'Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness' and the add-on 'Warcraft 2: Dark Portal'. As expected, significant alternations have been made to the graphics and the interface. Also, there is neither a multi-player mode nor a map editor.
Set in a magical fantasy world of Azeroth, the premise is that there are two warring alliances, one lead by humans and the other by Orcs. You can choose from a campaign for either side or custom missions. There's a total of 52 missions. FMV cutscenes intersperse the campaign scenarios.
The graphics are considerably less detailed than the PC/Mac versions. The control panel has been replaced with a new system in which clicking on individual units brings up command options. A new addition is the ability to auto-build units.
