First-person action game. You play a mercenary (hence the game's name). The game consists of a series of challenging missions, with varied objectives, set in locations around the globe. Levels are well-designed. A large variety of high-powered weapons, including the innovative microwave gun, and many other useful pieces of equipment are available in the game. It is possible to pick up equipment from neutralized enemies. The game aims to be moderately realistic and stealth plays an important part in the gameplay. The game boasts a good control system and high quality 3D graphics. The violent nature of the game makes it unsuitable for the younger gamer.
