City management sim. SimCity 3000 is essentially a refinement, rather than a major reworking, of the SimCity concept. It features updated graphics, new units and a refined interface. You take the role of mayor of your city. As in the previous games in the series, your task is lay out you city, manage resources as you expand and maintain your growing city. Advisors on help you decide budget allocation. A news tape also keeps you informed on the state of your city.
As part of your responsibilities, you set the level of taxes, providing revenue to pay for your additions to the city, whilst keeping your city attractive to its inhabitants. Developing and supporting industry is crucial. Neighboring cities have been added, with which you can trade resources such as water and electricity. There are also new areas of responsibility to consider, such as garbage disposal. Weather and freak events also effect the life of your city.
