Strategy and Wargaming Game from Red Storm Entertainment
Military sim with major strategy component. It combines team tactics and first-person shoot 'em up elements. Based on the novels of Tom Clancy, it is the sequel to the acclaimed Rainbow Six. You play the commander of a special anti-terrorist force, the Rainbow unit. Rogue Spear is the name of a nuclear bomb, which has been stolen. The game consists of 18 challenging missions in 16 authentic locations around the world. These include the Prague Opera House and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You control teams of up to eight men.
Each mission is preceded by a detailed planning phase. You must select and equip your team and, using the 3D map included together with the detailed intelligence, develop the plan of attack. Alternatively, you can opt for the pre-programmed default plan. Once the mission is underway, you coordinate the action and can switch to directly control any of your men. The game boasts good 3D graphics.
