Strategy and Wargaming Game from Mattel Interactive
Fourth installment in this popular series of turn-based WW2 war games. It is the follow-up to Panzer General 3D Assault.
The action is set on the Eastern Front. This game features overall improvements over the first game. Over 100 new unit-types are incorporated and leaders play a more important role previously in effecting the performance of troops.
The single-player game consists of four campaigns, two playing the Russians and two playing the Germans, and 22 stand-alone scenarios. Campaigns now have a branching structure. There is a scenario editor and random battle generator, but no map editor. The multi-player mode enables up to four people to compete (two-on-two), over LAN or Net.
The game is played on hex-based landscapes with 3D, animated units. The graphics could be better. There is also a strategic map to help you keep track of the action.
