Strategy and Wargaming Game from Strategic Simulations Inc. (SSI)
WW2, turn-based strategy/war game. As the title suggests, the main difference between this and earlier game in the series is that this one introduces battlefields that are rendered in 3D. The game concentrates on the conflict in North Africa and on the Western Front. Game options include a selection of 8 campaigns (4 short and 4 long) and some 20 stand-alone scenarios. The multi-player mode enables up to 4 people to play via LAN or Net.
As with the earlier games there are easy-to-master controls and simplified rules for fast-paced gameplay. As before, battlefields are divided into hexes. You are responsible not only for positioning units, but also the refitting and supplying of your forces. The 3D landscapes are well-rendered, although units can be difficult to spot.
