Strategy and Wargaming Game from 3DO, by New World Computing
Turn-based strategy/war game with resource management and RPG components, set in a fantasy universe. The game's premise is that two forces are fighting for control of a kingdom; good, evil and a force of mercenaries.
The game offers a choice of three single-player campaigns and numerous scenarios for single- of multi-player action (for up to eight players via modem connection, LAN, Net or hotseating). A map editor adds further replayability value. Forces are led by heroes that develop skills through experience, as in a RPG. The game is played on various maps and screens. Many different types of terrain feature. Combat is conducted on a hex grid which displays the armies of either side in stacks. The game's graphics are more 3D and detailed than in the previous games, the AI has also been improved and the interface has been refined.
