Strategy and Wargaming Game from Interactive Magic, by Erudite Software
Turn-based war game set in ancient Rome. The game recreates nine historical battles (at Vercellae, Chaeronea, Bibracte, Sabis, Dyrrachium, Pharsalus, Ruspina, Thapus and Munda). These can be played as a campaign (always playing the Romans) or individually (controlling either side). There is also a two-player mode, for games via modem/serial connection or LAN. Significantly, armies are no longer automatically placed at the beginning of each scenario, instead you can place them yourself. You organize your troops primarily at legion level. | This installment incorporates significant modifications that reflect the tactical preferences of the Roman army under Caesar. This has resulted in the introduction of the cohort unit, in place of large legions composed of troops of varied skills, and the greater importance of quickly erected fortifications. Some graphical improvements have also been made, most notably in the animation of units.
