Strategy and Wargaming Game from Strategic Simulations Inc. (SSI), by Divide By Zero
WW2 naval combat sim. It recreates historical sea battles in the Atlantic and Pacific between 1939 and 1942. Some hypothetical battles are also included.
Only battleships feature and British, German, American and Japanese ships and weapons are recreated. You can opt for standalone scenarios or a campaign mode. There is also a tutorial, a two-player mode (over LAN) and a scenario editor.
Course navigation and fleet organization is established on a 2D display, which also shows the range of various weapons. For the sake of realism, each maneuver must be completed before the next can commence. In general, the action is slow. A great deal of detail is available, right down to a full picture of the state of your crews, as well as your ships. Some of the action takes place at night.
In-game, you have a wide choice of views, you can even ride with your weapons to their target. The game's 3D graphics could be better.
