Third in this popular series of virtual pet/RTS games. As in the original, the player begins by choosing from a clutch of eggs and moving them to an incubator until they hatch. From here you must care for and teach your creatures, or Norns as they are known. Alternatively, you can opt to take on two fully-grown creatures. This time the game is set on a spaceship and areas of the ship can be used to heal and teach your norns. There are also replicating machines to reproduce objects. There are numerous types of objects scattered around that can be used in various ways and combined for new functions. As well as the aggressive Grendel creatures, the Norns will encounter others called Ettins that will steal objects that the Norns use. It is possible to develop defenses against the Grendels.
