Strategy and Wargaming Game from Microsoft Games, by Atomic Games
Squad level, real-time strategy and wargaming. The game covers ground-based combat between Russia and Germany between 1941 and the end of the war. The game incorporates several play modes; single scenarios, operations (a series of linked scenarios) or campaign mode. It is also possible to edit your own scenarios.
Campaigns consist of a series of scenarios, which often involve the successful competition of a number of objectives and cover several maps and several days. The maps are much larger than in the previous games in the series.
When the game starts you control a small number of units. As you progress you gain promotion and control larger forces. An important addition to this game is that there are now varying qualities of troops (conscripts, standard, or elite forces). The game covers a variety of terrain including forests, snow-covered battlefields and cities.
