Strategy and Wargaming Game from MicroProse
Turn-based strategy game. It is a reworking of Civ 2 with new game variants. You are able to choose whether to turn on the new options, so the complete original Civ 2 game is included.
Some improvements have been made to Civ 2, such as animated units and landscape graphics with 16-bit color. There are also new-look maps and an improved interface options. In addition, unexpected scripted events have been added which affect your empire. There are also new technologies for your civilization to develop. Fantasy and sci-fi settings feature alongside real-world settings.
Other innovations are the ability link together maps so you are not limited single world and can colonize up to four linked worlds. Also, scenario options can be combined. There are minor changes to the gameplay. The AI has also been slightly improved. The game incorporates full multi-player functionality, including hot-seating.
