Strategy and Wargaming Game from Activision, Inc., by MicroProse
Turn-based strategy game that was first released back in the early 1991 (CD version followed in 1995). This classic game has inspired many sequels and spin-offs. Covering a period from pre-history to beyond the present day, the game allows players to develop their empire by harnessing resources, building settlements, units and wonders and developing new technologies in order to expand influence. Combat and diplomacy are also important elements of the gameplay. The game is played on an overhead-viewed landscape with an effective menus system.
