Strategy and Wargaming Game from Eidos Interactive, by Red Lemon Studios
Real-time action/strategy game based on the film of the same name. The action in the game diverges from that portrayed in the film. The main objective is to unite the clans, expel the English from Scotland and reclaim the throne. You are required to use a variety of methods to persuade the divided clan leaders to join you, including diplomacy, bribery and violence.
When the game begins you are in control of 16 clans, each with their own characteristics. Warriors come in some 20 varieties. The game requires a large amount of resource management as you build up your group. In-game, you play on a 2D empire-building screen with interspersed with 3D rendered combat. The battles can feature hundreds of troops. You can elect to have the combat worked out automatically, rather than playing it out. Weather changes also have an effect on battles.
