Strategy and Wargaming Game from Talonsoft
Turn-based strategy game that recreates two Napoleonic battles, La Bataille de Ligny and La Bataille de Quatre Bras. There are 23 battle scenarios to choose from and three of these feature a new fog-of-war system. You can compete against the computer or another player (on-line or via e-mail modem connection or hotseating). You can adjust the amount of control you have and an advantage slider lets you to adjust the difficulty level. There are four map views available, two are impressive 3D views with units represented as miniatures. Maps are hexed based and zoomable.
You control the various units, each of which is graded in terms of movement points, quality and fatigue. Commanders and weapons are also graded. You issue commands and set formations. Video clips intersperse the action. The game's graphics, AI and point-and-click interface are generally good.
