Strategy and Wargaming Game from Talonsoft
Turn-based strategy game that recreates Napoleon's assault on Moscow in late 1812. There are 21 battle scenarios available. You can compete against the computer or another player (on-line or via e-mail modem connection or hotseating). You can adjust the amount of control you have over your army and an advantage slider lets you to adjust the difficulty level. There are four map views, two are impressive 3D views with units represented as miniatures, to enable you to keep track of the action. Maps are hexed based and zoomable.
You control the various units, each of which is graded in terms of movement points, quality and fatigue. Commanders and weapons are also graded. You issue commands and set formations. Some rule changes have been incorporated since the last game. Video clips intersperse the action. The game's graphics, AI and point-and-click interface are generally good.
