Strategy and Wargaming Game from ASCII Entertainment, by From Software
Action game with strategy component featuring giant robotic fighters called Armored Cores (ACs). This is actually the fourth game in the series but it is a sequel proper unlike the other games (Project Phantasma and Master of Arena). The first three games were released for PlayStation, whilst this game is the first to be available for PlayStation 2.
Set almost 70 years after the original game, the human colony of Mars has grown in size and mega corporations dominate. Each produces ACs, spare parts and other resources. You take the role of a mercenary who takes on jobs in order to earn credits for upgrades and new ACs. The game offers various combat scenarios and features many new types of robot and weapon. Alongside the single-player campaign is a two-player mode. ACs can now fire more weapons at a time. The graphics are advanced with spectacular explosive effects.
