Highly successful real-time strategy/empire-building game. This historically-based game covers the period 5000 B.C - 800 A.D. The game's graphics are more detailed than many similar games, and it features animated people. You choose a civilization and guide them as they grow and develop new technologies, whilst expanding and defending your territory.
There are several game options including campaign, stand-alone scenario and multi-player games. A random map generator and editor is incorporated. The game has a lot of depth and the interface and control system is good. The game is played on an isometric landscape and the graphics are effective. An extensive range of sound effects and background music accompany play.
