Installment in the hit series of basketball games. The game features updated rosters, improved graphics and enhanced gameplay. Game options include exhibition matches, one-on-one practice, playoffs, full season, challenge and franchise mode. The franchise mode has more depth than that in the last game in the series, with more player options and more information. A new challenge system gives players bonuses for achieving certain victory criteria such as winning three matches in a row. There is strong multi-player mode.
New moves have been added. The game boasts advanced graphics. In particular bench, court and crowd graphics are improved. Games are accompanied by a play-by-play commentary by Bob Elliott. Hip-hop style music is also incorporated.
