Sport Game from Nintendo, by Camelot Software Planning
Cartoon-style golf game featuring Mario and friends. As with other golf sims, you select a club, aim and strike. You take aim on a overview map with grid and a meter at the bottom of the screen decides the force of your shot. You must take into account things like terrain and wind speed.
The game offers a large number of play options; seven for the single-player mode, including training and championships, and five in multi-player mode (for up to four players). There are initially four characters to choose from but additional characters are unlocked. Each character has their own subtle playing characteristics. In all, there are some 145 holes included in the game. Courses cover a range of fantasy landscapes.
The game employs good 3D graphics. Characters are well animated. An update soundtrack featuring tunes familiar from other Mario titles accompanies play, along with the good range of sound effects including amusing speech samples.
