Golf game with RPG component. Hot Shots Golf 3 marks a major improvement in the graphics over the last game, thanks to the increased power of PlayStation 2. Game options include training, stroke play, match play, tournament, short course, Vs. (against computer) and multi-player modes. Up to four players can compete.
The game features fifteen characters, including one real-life golfer, John Daly. Experience points are awarded for good performance and these can be used to upgrade skills. The game has six fantasy courses rendered in great detail.
The swing meter has been tweaked to make the gameplay more realistic. Also, weather now has a greater effect on shots. Different times of day are recreated. The game employs good cartoon-style graphics.
