Sport Game from Sony Computer Entertainment, by Camelot Software Planning
This successful golf game combines arcade-style playability with some of the depth of a golf simulation. The game features an extensive selection of cartoon-style characters, notable for their large heads. Game options include Training, Stroke Play, Match Play, Tournament and Vs mode (against computer). There is also a good set of tutorials and a multi-player mode for up to 4 players.
The main game consists of working through the tournament mode earning experience points as you go. Experience points are based on finishing position and other aspects of performance, such as long puts. As you accumulate points you unlock new players, courses and features including a Hidden Mystery mode. A statistics screen allows you to keep track of your progress and view replays of your best shots.
You can opt to select your own clubs or have a virtual caddy do this for you. The game employs good graphics and effective controls.
