Installment in this popular series of hockey games. As well as updated rosters for the comprehensive selection of authentic teams, the game boasts general improvements with more detailed graphics and better audio. A player editor is incorporated.
You can choose from six options; quick start, playoffs, shootout, tournament, season and career modes. You can play against the computer or another player (same machine with two controllers, or over LAN or Net). As in the previous games, there is a lot of depth to the gameplay and you can adjust many aspects of the action and controls including penalties and control speed. The game boasts impressive graphics, particularly noticeable in the faces of players, coaches and the crowd. A new addition is the 'emotion meter' that triggers special cutscenes for added drama. Varied commentary by Bill Clement and Jim Hughson accompanies matches.
