As in the original, the focus is on performing tricks, with a total of some 1500 possible. The game features a selection of authentic BMX champions including Mirra and Ryan Nyquist. It is also be possible to create your own character. There are eight large levels covering indoor and outdoor environments.
Game options include proquest (career), free ride and session modes. In proquest you develop your rider's career by doing well and securing sponsorship deals. Challenges and competitions are divided into three difficulty classes; Amateur, Pro and Hardcore. The two-player mode offers a choice of ten mini-games and you can play through all of these in a grand competition called 'bikathalon'. The game's graphics and controls could be improved.
