Driving/racing sim. The long Le Mans track is recreated and it is even possible to drive the full 24-hour race. The track is some 13 km in length and covers a variety of surfaces. Weather conditions vary and time moves on, so it is possible to reproduce experience of racing at Le Mans to a good degree of accuracy. (If you select a short race the sun will speed across the sky - somewhat reducing the realism of the game!)
The vehicle handling attempts to be as realistic as possible in sim mode. This has been achieved with the help of the constructors themselves. There is an arcade mode, alongside the main sim mode. In order to add variety to the game additional made-up tracks and a driver's championship are included.
The graphics are advanced (particularly on the more powerful platforms). Of particular note, are the impressive lighting effects.
