Flight Game from Sierra, by Dynamix
Civilian flight sim. It features five flyable aircraft ranging from the Cessna 172 to the Cessna Citation jet. A comprehensive selection of US airports is recreated. The game features an in-depth tutorial (the game was developed with help from the National Association of Flight Instructors). The main game consists of selecting one of a set of flight plans, or defining your own, and flying the plane there. The course planning system with maps and other customization options, such as weather conditions, is effective.
The game features an accurate cockpit with fully functional controls. You have various navigational aids, including GPS, and can opt to have a virtual co-pilot who will alert you to dangers. A nice feature is that you can add own voice to replace that of your pilot. There is no multi-player mode. The game's physics modeling and graphics could be better. There is no 3D acceleration and the terrain is unimpressive.
