Flight Game from Microsoft Games
World War II combat flight sim. There is an extensive selection of game options including free-flight, training, quick combat and full campaign modes. The multi-player mode enables up to 8 people to play via Net, modem/serial connection or LAN. The campaign mode consists of two campaigns; the Battle of Britain and the European Air War. You can choose which side to play between Britain and Germany in the Battle of Britain and the Americans and Germans in the European Air War. The historically-based campaigns are divided into missions.
There are eight flyable aircraft, including the Spitfire, Messerschmitt, P51 Mustang and Thunderbolt, and loads more are featured in the game. You choose a pilot from a list. The three main types of missions; dogfighting, bomber interception and bombing runs. Damage sustained during combat effects the handling of your plane.
The comprehensive mission editor includes the options for non-historically based action. For instance you can fly a modern jumbo jet over New York. You can also import planes designed in Microsoft's Flight Shop.
You view the action from within an accurately rendered, interactive cockpit. The game boasts excellent graphics including well-rendered weapons effects and aircraft damage. It also has good enemy AI, which has three settings to increase difficulty.
