Driving Game from Psygnosis
Futuristic 3D racing game that features anti-gravity vehicles. It was released in parts of the world with the title Wipeout 2097. The game combines high-paced racing action, weapons and power-ups with stylish design and graphics. The game's 8 tracks are well-designed and incorporate many twists, turns and spectacular jumps. Settings vary.
In the single-player mode there are three game options; time trial, arcade and challenge mode. Challenge modes cover races both with, and without, weapons. Weapons include missiles, mines and shockwaves and you can also pick up boosts and shields. There is a multi-player mode (on a split screen on a PlayStation or via multi-tap and on the PC via LAN, modem/serial connection or on-line). The game's graphics are impressive. A range of beat-driven tunes by well-known artists accompany play.
