Driving Game from Acclaim Entertainment, by Clockworks Entertainment
Road racing game featuring a wide variety of authentic vehicles. There are 16 drivable vehicles with models by manufacturers including BMW, Toyota, Ford, Volkswagen, Dodge and Lotus. Races are challenging with as many as a hundred other vehicles sharing the road, making for some exciting overtaking action. There are 12 tracks in total, all of which can be raced in reverse.
Game options include time trials, single races and a massive 32 different type of championship. There are also rally and multi-player modes. In rally mode only racers are on the roads since all the civilian traffic is removed. The multi-player allows two people to participate in split screen races, or up to eight in knockout tournaments. A novel inclusion is the Balloon Buster game where competitors must try to burst as many of the balloons scattered around the track as possible.
The courses are well designed, incorporating obstacles and jumps. The game's graphics are generally good with both cars and backgrounds rendered in detail.
