Driving Game from Take 2 Interactive, by Edge of Reality
Monster truck racing game. The game offers a selection of 20 trucks plus 10 courses. The courses are well designed, with many shortcuts, twists and jumps and things to smash into. Settings are varied and include a junkyard and Aztec ruins. There are two main single-player game modes: exhibition and circuit. There is also a strong multi-player mode for up to 4 people for races, tag and team games. Unlike the PC version of Monster Truck Madness, Monster Truck Madness 64 includes weapons. Powerups, such as missiles, oil slick and invisibility, are scattered around the tracks.
The game incorporates different conditions to add diversity to the game, such as four different times of day and varied weather effects.
The graphics are OK, although the backgrounds are generally quite dull. A high-energy commentary accompanies play.
