3D action/strategy game featuring 'Heavy Gears' - combat robots equipped with high powered weaponry. There are many types of gears and weapons available and you can build your own gear from component parts.. There are three main game options; training, story and tour of duty (quick start). Story mode consists of a campaign of 32 missions tied together by a story developed through FMV cutscenes.
Set in the futuristic 'Dream Pod 9' RPG universe, the plot revolves around a Civil war on the planet of Terra Nova, colonized by humans. You play Ranger Edward Scott, a member of the Northern army. Mission types include convey duty, hostage rescue and intelligence gathering. There is also a multi-player mode for up to eight people via LAN or Net. The game is played on 3D landscapes. There is an overhead maps to help you plan your strategy. The game employs a modified MechWarrior 2 engine. The 3D graphics and controls are effective.
