Driving Game from Psygnosis, by Studio 33
High-quality F1 racing game. It features all the teams, drivers, cars and circuits of the '99 season. There are 11 teams and 16 tracks in all, including the new Sepang circuit and BAR team. Driver biographies, including career stats, are incorporated.
You can choose from quick-start races, arcade mode, Grand Prix (sim mode) and multi-player races. In both sim and arcade modes you can opt for full season championship, practice or single races. When racing the full season in Grand Prix mode, practice and qualifications sessions are recreated. You can adjust many areas of the game such as race length and weather conditions. There is also high degree of car set-up customization available.
The game boasts good 3D graphics, the cars are rendered in great detail (minus the tobacco advertising) and backgrounds and tracks are also well-rendered. The AI is good. Races are accompanied by commentary provided by Murray Walker himself.
