Driving Game from Nintendo, by Rare
3D racing game in development. Instead of vehicles, you'll choose animals to ride, including a school of piranhas, an ostrich and a swarm of wasps. Once selected you'll race over land, in the air and underwater. Instead of clearly defined tracks, you'll be able to find your own way across large swaths of lush jungle landscape. The aim will be to make the best use of your chosen mode of transport. It is yet to be confirmed whether or not players will be able to switch between creatures in-race.
An innovative aspect of the gameplay will be that food and prizes will be available that enhance the capabilities of each animal. A selection of Kong characters will feature. You'll compete against the computer or up to three other players.
The game's graphics promise to be advanced, making use of the Gamecube's power. A fully-orchestrated soundtrack will feature.
