3D kart racing game featuring characters and settings from the highly-successful Crash Bandicoot platform games.
There is an extensive selection of driver and cars with their distinctive handling characteristics. The drivers include Crash himself, Cortex, Dingodile, Tiny, Polar, Pura and Coco. Additional bonus characters can be unlocked. Game options include Arcade, Versus (up to four players), Time Trial and Adventure modes. In Adventure mode a story ties the races together. There are numerous items to be collected, puzzles to be solved and secret sections of track to be opened.
There are 25 well-designed tracks in all, and many have steep sections, jumps or obstacles. Weapons power-ups are scattered around. The tracks are set in a variety of environments including a frozen wasteland and a sewer. The game's cartoon-style graphics are impressive. Upbeat music, good sound effects and speech samples accompany play.
