3D platform game. This time Spyro must save the land of Avalar from the evil Ripto.
The game consists of a series levels. In order to progress from one to the next you must accumulate 'orbs' and find a talisman at the exit of the level. Orbs are earned by completing various sub-games, such as a hockey match. There are also gems to collect that are scattered around the levels.
New moves have been added to Spyro's range since the first game, including swimming, hovering and climbing. Level design is excellent and the Spyro's ability to fly leads to some fantastic views of the gameworld. The game employs cartoon-style design.
The game's control system is effective. The 3D graphics are of a high standard. A good range of sound effects and a musical score accompany play.
