Adventure Game
Third-person action/adventure game starring the heroine of the successful TV show. The premise is that Xena must defeat the evil plans of Kalabrax who needs to find a mortal human Queen as a sacrifice to unleash a new and evil power. Xena's friend, Gabrielle Queen of the Amazons, is therefore threatened.
The game consists of 21 levels. They cover variety of settings, including a town, labyrinth and even Hades itself. Objectives are fairly varied but as expected the gameplay primarily involves combat. Xena has a range of moves including attacking kicks, punches and blocks. She also wields a sword. Level design is generally good. Powerups are scattered around in-game. There are also some puzzle elements, mostly involving operating levers etc.
In general both the character and background graphics are good. Cutscenes intersperse the action. A good range of sound effects is incorporated, together with music similar to that used in the show.
