Adventure Game from Electronic Arts, by Origin Systems
Sequel to the MMORPG Ultima Online. It was originally to be entitled Ultima Online 2. This game will incorporate substantial differences from its predecessor. The game will again be set in the fantasy world of Britannia, but after an 'industrial revolution' which results in new technologies. The world will be divided into three distinctive areas, each with its own theme and style. These are ancient, medieval and steam-punk. Players will start on one of three land masses and will be able to move between them easily.
The new Britannia will include 'safe areas' where players can go when they do not wish to engage on combat. There will be three playable races. Over 100 types of spell will be incorporated, alongside an extensive selection conventional weapons and equipment. The game will employ fully 3D graphics for the first time. It is rumored that a version is planned for PlayStation 2.
